Digestive Endoscopy Department

In the Syrian Specialized Hospital, the Digestive Endoscopy Department provides services for endoscopy of the esophagus, stomach, intestine and colon, cauterization of bleeding ulcers, ligation of esophageal varices, and installation of an intestinal feeding tube in cases where swallowing is not possible.
And endoscopy of the bile ducts, with treatment of strictures, removal of stones, taking diagnostic samples, and removing tumor obstructions in the digestive system and bile ducts.
As the department consists of the latest endoscopy equipment, so that specialized doctors can diagnose all digestive system diseases for adults and children through endoscopy, and the use of endoscopes is not limited to diagnosing diseases only, but also treats some diseases.
The goal is always to reach the best diagnostic and treatment services for patients, and to follow up on all new means, equipment and services in the interest of patients.
Services provided by the Department of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy:
Upper GI endoscopy to diagnose and treat diseases of the esophagus, stomach and duodenum, including GERD, gastric and duodenal ulcers, tumors, malabsorption and others.
Lower GI endoscopy to diagnose and treat diseases of the intestines and colon, including colon ulcers, tumors, and others.
Cholangoscopy for diagnosing diseases of the bile ducts, with treatment of strictures, removal of stones, diagnostic sampling, and removal of obstructions, if any.
Insertion of an enteral feeding tube in cases where it is not possible to swallow.
Stopping bleeding in the digestive system and eradicating some types of polyps.
Opening the bile ducts, removing bile duct stones and placing grids.
Esophageal dilatation, esophageal mesh placement.
Cancer detection and sampling.
